In this sermon, we examine what the Bible has to say about true human freedom. Real liberty is found in knowing and serving Jesus Christ. False conceptions of freedom lead to ruination, as we see in the narrative of the Golden Calf.

By Benjamin Hatch. Jesus faces two requests - one from two of his disciples seeking self-aggrandizement, and one from a blind beggar seeking sight. In these two incidents, we see a clear contrast between the right and wrong understanding of discipleship.

Jesus rejects their entire system and shows us that our greatest problem is not ceremonial defilement which can be cured by outward behavior modification, but that we are defiled to the very core and what we need is a new heart.
